The law defines administrative, civil and even criminal sanctions for violating the provisions of the Equal Rights Law for people with disabilities, including the obligation to make accessibility adjustments on websites. From an administrative and criminal point of view, the Commission for Equality of Rights for Persons with Disabilities is authorized to issue an 'accessibility order' to the business, which details the adjustments it is required to make and the schedule for making them. This is an administrative order, the violation of which may result in the filing of a criminal charge as well as a criminal fine (in the amount of NIS 75,300 and an additional fine, at the rate of 5% of the aforementioned fine for each day that the offense continues beyond the time period stipulated in the accessibility order). Also, in such a case, indictments can be filed against senior officials in the business. From a civil point of view, a person with a disability may sue the accessibility debtor for a violation of the accessibility obligation.
